Everyone hurts

World looks like an emergency room ... full of pain

Ever have one of those weeks where everything happens so fast you don’t know where the time went?

Grab hold of this next week as best you can.

And don’t kid yourself. Everyone is hurting.

After a time in the hospital with a loved one, I saw so many people in the ER from all walks of life in pain.

Now, my situation – while an emergency – wasn’t as extensive as some. But when you’re holding a loved one who is in severe pain, it’s serious to you.

Find some “canned” nice words to help start a conversation no matter how dire the situation at hand.

Then let go, and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

You won’t be in control, so you can’t mess it up.

Isaiah 30:31 (KJV) – “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”

3 Questions for you

This is something different this week.

Look back on the week and as yourself …

· Who is hurting?

· Who hurt you?

· Who made you smile?

Love them all. Jesus does.

Be kind. Be bold.

Shawn’s noodling rant:

(“Noodling” is a term I swiped from my mentor. The meaning is to “ponder” or “think deeply about” a topic that God is challenging us with through scripture or the Holy Spirit, or both.)

Life has been much the same for so many

“It’s been another rough week.”

I’ve heard that a lot from people around me.

For me it was another visit to urgent care.

Tired. Drained. Need refueling. Just enough to get going again.

Is it whining to just want to say, “Let me sit here, if but for a minute?”

Did Jesus ever just hang out with the gang and laugh a little?

I hope so. I need that sometimes.

If you know a verse or commentary with insight about Jesus just hanging out, comment below this edition on the website. I would love to hear it.

For me, it was time to get back in the mix after a break.

Better let than never.

My mentor not long ago shared, “Let God have the rest and best of your life.”

Enjoy God’s presence. He will restore you.

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) – “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

A little soaring today is a blessing to the soul.

Now, disciple, soar a little and guide another on how to do the same.

P.S. I was a little late this week with the edition. Life happens.
