Yes, Jesus loves you ...

... for the Bible tells you so

The Bible says …

Ever wonder or get tripped up about how to engage a conversation about Jesus?

“The Bible says …”

And go from there.

Those intersections of conversation you encounter – some call these “divine appointments” – don’t have to be complicated.

“I’m struggling with a relationship.”

The Bible says …

And so on with any question or comment you encounter.

Remember John 3:16 and share your testimony. You know the verse well, and you know your testimony well.

Just share what you know. What you know is enough.

And for what you don’t know, “Let’s see what the Bible says.”

We get the opportunity to lead people to God’s Word, but He is the only one who can save someone.

John 3:16 (KJV) – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Now, disciple, the Bible says so.

3 Questions for now

Don’t even think about questions today.

Think about the Bible, God’s Word which is your guidance to help others.

  • Anything anyone says, “The Bible says …”

Memorize John 3:16 and share your testimony – your heart for Jesus and His salvation.

Be kind. Love others. Be bold.

Shawn’s noodling rant:

(“Noodling” is a term I swiped from my mentor. The meaning is to “ponder” or “think deeply about” a topic that God is challenging us with through scripture or the Holy Spirit, or both.)

I know Jesus loves me – my Bible proves it

I don’t know how many times in my life I’ve been working through some issue or difficulty, and I get to the point of just breaking it down to the basics.

Friends and family have heard me say this many times. And I’ve written about it in this newsletter and elsewhere.

This is my “go to” answer when things get rough. It’s my “tie a knot in the rope and hang on” answer to surviving a challenge.

“Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”

The world can be crumbling around me, and I can sit down and sing that line in my head as if I could actually sing well.

It hits home today the same as it did when I was a child, calming and inviting to slow down and connect with Jesus.

This world can pound on me and that verse will bring a smile to my face.

I know Jesus loves me. God’s Word tells me so.

That’s powerful.

Because God’s Word is powerful.

John 1:1 (KJV) – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God.”

Isaiah 40:8 (KJV) – “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.”

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) – “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Every day, every turn of events, God’s Word is there for us to lean on and lean into, no matter the situation. His love shines through His Word.

Now, disciple, sing a little.

“Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”
